Frequently Asked Questions

Will Wallums stick to any wall?

Smooth walls are ideal, and most textured walls work with a little patience. Some VOC-free paints don't hold vinyl well, so every order includes a free test decal. Want to check first? Order a color sample pack.

Are they easy to remove?

Yes. Start at a corner and peel slowly at a sharp angle. As long as your walls were properly prepped and painted, the decal comes off without damaging the paint.

How do I know which size to order?

Measure the area where it will go and pick the size that fills it the way you like. Sizes are for the whole assembled design. Need something different? Request a custom size.

Are the colors on screen accurate?

Screens vary, and metallics like Gold, Copper and Silver are especially hard to show. For exact colors, order a color sample pack.

How quickly will my order ship?

Everything is made to order by hand in our Northern California shop and usually ships within a week. Orders over $100 ship free within the continental US. We ship to US addresses only.

Looks Good

Took about an hour to install. I prepped the wall as recommended. If the paint job on the wall had been smooth, the install would have been perfect.

Peeling off the wall

I have applied several wall decals so I am fairly experienced with what I'm doing. I purchased this decal a while ago because I was going to first paint the wall and waited several weeks between painting and applying the decal. I applied the test decal first, waited 24 hours to make sure it stayed on correctly, then applied my large decal. Within 24 hours, it is peeling off the wall in several areas. The paint I used is not a 'Voc free/stain blocker" paint - other decals have been successfully applied to this same paint with no problems.
The decal is a beautiful one, but I will be throwing it out shortly because it will not stay on the wall!

Hello Linnea,

We're sorry to hear your decal is not adhering. Can you please let us

know what brand and color of paint you used? Was it flat, eggshell,

satin, semi-gloss or gloss finish? We would like to be able to test

the paint here in the office. We use the industry standard for vinyl.

Is it possible for you to send us a picture of the decal peeling along

with a picture of the other decal you applied successfully to the same

wall. We would be happy to send you out a replacement if desired.
